sad about a pudding

September 14th, 2010 (11:39 am)

current mood: okay

Have you noticed? I'm trying to start a LJ renaissance. Between meetings.

Today I'm slightly sad about a crumble. Saturday I picked blackberries on the way home, and then made a crumble that we were supposed to have for pudding on Saturday night. But due to all the Saturday night drama, the pudding wasn't eaten. It is still untouched in the fridge, and I know that it's going to go in the bin. I mind more because I picked the berries, and it was the only blackberrying I've done this summer. I left it until the last minute. Next year I will try to do better.

Some like it in the pot, nine days old...
I'd eat it, warmed up it should be fine.

OK, this is rather unusual for me, but my appetite has been quite erratic lately, and sweet things after dinner just don't appeal.

Maybe have it before dinner, or instead of dinner! Or take a slab of it to work to have with your coffee break.

I'd freeze it in portions, so it could be eaten whenever, even if alone.

Me too, there's nothing to go off much in a crumble. So at the very least it could be passed on to a deserving recipient.

All the misery in the world, and we're agitating ourselves about the tragic waste of Badasstronaut's crumble. But hey, she picked the berries herself!

It's easy to be vaguely mildly rueful about berry wastage. Real misery is much harder to deal with.
